Do you remember back when you were a child and a beautiful butterfly landed on your arm? Perhaps you were plucking dandelions with your best friend and she spotted the butterfly landing on you. Remember the few breathless moments when you were afraid to even blink for fear that you would scare it away? In that moment, you felt as if the world had stopped, the clouds had parted and that God Himself had placed a gentle hand on you. For one, brief moment you were blessed
And then in the next moment, like blowing a dandelion puff into the wind, the butterfly flew away and you could breath again, feeling lightheaded and giddy from the experience, and a little bit sad that it was over.
Those breathless moments in life leave an indelible mark on our minds and hearts. We each have our own memories of being in a moment that stops us in our tracks and makes us take notice of our lives. Those moments are so rare and yet, they shape and mold us. We live to experience being breathlessly giddy from the excitement and pure pleasure of living.
No matter how much we try, we can’t live in those moments forever. We can, however, train our minds to recognize those moments when they bless us with their presence in our lives. Live in such a way that you recognize and appreciate your breathless blessings. You may have them more often than you know!
