Are you a “one more thing” person? Are you always pushing your schedule and perhaps running late because you want to do “one more thing?” Do you run yourself to the point of exhaustion and then collapse into bed because you want to fix one more thing, clean one more thing, plan one more thing, read one more thing or watch one more thing?
Sometimes we can get so caught up in the American culture of doing more and more and more that we begin to lose sight of the truly important “things” like saying “I love you” one more time, saying “Thank you” and “Please” one more time, pausing to take in our surroundings one more time or closing our eyes in true gratitude for one more day to live, one more breath to breathe, and one more chance to live a life of fulfillment.
Just for today, instead of doing one more “thing,” try to take time to pause, be gracious, grateful and loving one more time. You may learn to let go of the unimportant “things” by embracing the truly important “things.”
