“To be educated, a person doesn’t have to know much or be informed, but he or she does have to have been exposed vulnerably to the transformative events of an engaged human life.”
-Thomas More

Quality #3:  Engaged

Good yoga teachers are both engaging and engaged.  When students walk into a yoga studio, yoga teachers will greet them by name, and will be genuinely interested in them as students.

Yoga teachers must be fully engaged to instruct a yoga class.  Watching every student intently will create the format and instruction of each class based upon student challenges in obtaining correct alignment  Yoga teachers must engage their minds and speech in order to gently guide their students into the way of yoga and proper alignment.

Yoga teachers must also be engaging in a way that will draw out the very best in every student.  Engaging each student into the process of yoga will create longtime practitioners who will learn to appreciate their bodies for the miracles that they are.

Being both engaged and engaging is nearly a prerequisite for a yoga teacher.  Would you agree?
