“If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more, and become more, you are a leader.”  ~John Quincy Adams

Quality 30:  Leaders

Good yoga teachers are leaders.  They do not follow the crowd because they create their own destiny and follow their own path. As teachers, they know that they must be stronger, more courageous, more devoted, and different enough in their ways to inspire their students.  Leading gently, they carefully guide their students with knowledge and wisdom, while helping them to become stronger within themselves.

Good yoga teachers lead by inspiration.  They create thought-provoking class themes from their own experiences and connect those experiences with poses that balance the minds and bodies of their students.  As leaders, they inspire with their strength, stability and poise.

Have you ever felt down when you entered a yoga class only to be uplifted by a few words from the teacher during your practice?

Yoga is a gift and a good teacher a rare treasure.  If you have a good teacher, appreciate and support them.  Trust me, when they are gone, you will fully understand the true value of the treasure you have received by learning from them.  I have been blessed with two incredible teachers in my life (one martial artist and one yogi) and I am a better person and teacher myself for having the privilege of training with them.
