“It is a full-time job being honest one moment at a time, remember to love to honor, to respect. It is a practice, a discipline, worthy of every moment.” ~Jasmine Guy
Can you be honest with yourself? Do you look yourself in the mirror and like the person staring back at you? Are you living in the truth of your own self? Living honestly with yourself is powerful, challenging and scary, all at the same time. Without personal honesty at every moment, you will not reach your highest fulfillment in life.
How can you start living more honestly? Begin with a long look in the mirror. How often do you avoid the mirror because you don’t like what you see? How often do you look into the mirror and criticize yourself for your perceived imperfections? Perhaps you focus only on the parts with which you are comfortable and filter all of the rest?
Living in honesty can be a painful process if you don’t approach yourself with gentleness, kindness, acceptance and a steel will for change. Your mind is powerful and strong, often much stronger than your desire to change. If you truly wish to change your habits, your mindset, your routine, and your perceptions, the first step is to strip away your false perceptions and begin in honesty with yourself. You deserve it and you can do it!
Let’s practice this week in honesty together 🙂
